Hey, y’all! We just wanted to remind you that we’re once again hosting our annual Charity Auction on Saturday night! If you’d still like to donate an item, we will be accepting on-site donations (more information about coordination will be available at the help desk).
Anyway, it’s called The Collaborative and it promotes financial education and savings opportunities for NC citizens.
Check out these highlights from their impact page!
The Collaborative promotes economic security for low-to-moderate income North Carolinians through programs focused on financial education and savings. Our impact across the state includes:
Community-Based Asset Building Project: For the first three years of the project we provided 293 presentations about asset-building, recruited 1,163 volunteers, convened 122 meetings, saw an average of 57.5% increase in knowledge among the 52,000+ North Carolinians receiving financial education, developed a replication manual for communities, and established new capacities within the partner agencies. We trained and placed 35 full-time VISTAs and 9 Summer Associates in 19 agencies across the state. Over the four years of the project, we have brought to North Carolina $590,500 of new economic impact.
North Carolina Saves: We have expanded the number of savers through the www.northcarolinasaves.org website, and now connect over 7000 North Carolinians to financial tools and consumer information.
North Carolina Assets Alliance: The Collaborative is the lead agency for the Alliance, with over 80 organizational members representing public , private and non-profit institutions with a vision to expand opportunity and build a more stable financial future for all North Carolinians.
Pathways to Prosperity Conferences: This Conference provides learning and networking to the state’s practitioners and policy advocates by bringing the country’s leading experts to the Triangle to share innovations, recent research and policy achievements to help low-income people rise up the economic ladder. With five conferences over the past 10 years, over 1450 attendees have taken advantage of our Conference.
